I’m no night person I even sleep before dark reaches my door I’m content with not knowing half of the world It swerves behind my back as I sleep on my side I hug my pillow for protection I hug my pillow as if it’s someone I know An orphan is in need As I need someone to look up to Quite sure I can’t find them at night So I become A day person Where light showers And ideas enchant like flowers I return home at sunset Walking toward the crimson colored sky I won’t look behind Knowing my shadow is getting bigger than I am Must I run? Run like a mad man to where I call home Where I can curl in my bed Where I can hug my pillow for protection Hug my pillow as if it’s someone I know

I like this poem. It's the hugging of the pillow part that got me! Maybe because I was once a pillow- hugger myself. I like the way the poem repeats to conclude. Very powerful ending.
Wow. I really enjoy this. I don't know if you'll ever read this but I stumbled upon your poem one night and it really provided catharsis for me. What a lovely poem.
