I'll visit my cousin on the way.....

Which of the following sentences is or are correct?

1) I'll visit my cousin on the way from work.

2) I'll visit my cousin on the way to work.

3) I'll visit my cousin on the way home from work.

If all three are possible, do they mean the same thing?

If so, which would you use?

2 and 3 can't mean the same thing. You know that. The motion described is in the opposite direction.
