'I'll stop it as soon as you start listening' or start to listen?

Which one is right?
For example, a jailor is talking to a prisoner, and the prisoner tells him: I'll start obeying as soon as you start to listen or as soon as you start listening !?

You could use either, but I'd keep them consistent. I'll start to obey when you start to listen. I'll start obeying when you start listening.

I'll start to obey when you start to listen.

I'll start obeying when you start listening.

(Either way, a rather dangerous thing for someone in jail to say to the prison guard!)

Hey, now. I'm geeky, not nerdy. There IS a difference. Emotion: smile

My dictionary lists "jailor" as a variation of jailer. So, less common, but acceptable.

On the other hand, WA, be careful with "alright." You'll find people who insist it is a mistake and that only "all right" is acceptable. There are many sources that say it's okay, however.

All right, my nerdy friend, I'm hearing you. Emotion: big smile
BTW - I'm fatigued.
