Slovenian-Ukrainian round table "Intelligent solutions for farmers Slovenia: the future driver for agriculture in Ukraine" was conducted on 19 August 2016 in the Kyiv City State Administration. Participants of the meeting were Ambassador of Slovenia in Ukraine, members of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, deputy mayor, specialists of the agricultural department of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Slovenian and Ukrainian IT companies and agribusiness Ukraine.
During the session, members of round table discussed the efficient management of processes and resources of Slovenian agricultural sector with the help of IT products and solutions.

Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia Natasha Prah emphasized in her opening speech that she expects long-term and reliable relations between Slovenia and Ukraine in the field of agricultural innovation and projects. The head of KRSA Panteleeva Peter answered: "Ukraine appreciates the assistance of European companies and thanks for huge support and openness to cooperation."

In addition, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Maxim Martyniuk said that due to the situation that is happening in Ukraine, agriculture has become the leading sector of the economy. That is why he advised farmers to improve their productivity and performance through information technology.

"Agriculture and IT - are two most advanced industries, their synergy can bring Ukrainian agrisector to a new level." - said Advisor to the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Vladyslav Rudnytska.

The first speaker Grega Milchinski presented Sinergise program, through which user can get information and images of Earth surface, that made by satellite Sentinel-2. He also talked about a number of opportunities to view images in a variety of spectrum (RGB, red-edge, etc.) and about new technology for cleaning up clouds from photos. At the end of his speech, Grega said that he is ready to cooperate with the Ukrainian business.

The next speaker was CEO of Datalab Agro, Andrew Mertel. The theme of his speech was "Global IT trends in agriculture. The benefits and opportunities for Ukrainian agricultural sector". He brought up the issue of data privacy: "If you don't pay for software you use, it means that someone else pays for it and have access to your data. See for example, on Facebook, which has your most intimate information".

The statement about data privacy was also supported by the head of Drone.UA Valeriy Yakovenko. He talked about the reliability of data centers and EU initiative, according to which private data, including an information of agri producers, must stay and safe at the borders of a country. According to Valery, after the implementation of this initiative, the market of satellite imagery and services can change all business models, that exist now.

In his presentation, Andrew Mertel noted that, in his opinion, one of the main problems of the agricultural sector in Ukraine is that the farmers don't make full plans, but make possible economic calculations to satisfy the board of directors: "Planning and Management - is one of the most important factors that affect economic success of a economy. Bad management means a hole in the budget, poor-quality work and waste of resources. We as a developer of integrated software set ourselves the goal to assist farmers to do business efficiently. "

Another important issue was investment. Andrew advised to invest in property, land and employees, saying: "Companies don't invest in people, but a quality of production depends exactly on them".
