As well as making money, businesses also have social responsibilities. Do you agree or disagree?
The business has been a topic of general interest among people nowadays. It is questionable whether the business should be set up with social responsibility or not, meanwhile, some people assert that they only tend to make money. From my perspective, I subscribe to the idea that startup needs to be responsible for society besides their benefits.
There are several reasons why social responsibilities rest with businesses. First of all, businesses have to be responsible for their product whether it is friendly-environmental or not. This is the first criteria for attracting customers for their business in the long term. For instance, in Japan, residents are leaning toward using electric cars on their own, and this brings a profitable amount for many businesses that are running on it.
Second of all, many startups have to obey the laws while running a business. In particular, some participants have broken the laws by not paying taxes to the government to lessen pressure, or selling several illegal products. However, this may ultimately lead their business to failure when they are under control and investigation by government policy.
Last but not least, some people argue that regardless of whether the product is bad or good for customers, they may run their own business if it is financially viable. For instance, a bunch of people are keen on street food even though it may do their health a disservice. The own benefits of sellers and unawareness of purchasers may create such an unhealthy society in the next generation. I disagree with these actions and those need to be criticized criminally.
To sum up, I personally agree that running a business needs both individual and social responsibilities. the business has to work on good and friendly environmental products and obey the laws, which is the way to create a civilized and developed society.
