If/when/as soon as

I am going to give up this job when/if/as soon as I find a new one.

Does the sentence keep the same meaning if we use them separately?

Top answer

No. 'As soon as' suggests a greater immediacy than 'when'. Both see the finding of a new job as certain; 'if' sees it as only a possibility.
