...if you sell, mortgage or hawk something which you don't own yet, you are guilty of licening

Hi

In a movie a character says this line, "...if you sell, mortgage or hawk something which you don't own yet, you are guilty of licening". I don't know if it's "licening" but it sounds so to me. But there doesn't exist such a word. Perhaps, you could guess the exact word. Thanks.
