if you look/go around in Taiwan

But is globalization really such a bad thing? If you look/go around in Taiwan you will see many international brand names.

Hi,
Should I use "look" or "go" in the above? If both fit, do the convey a similar idea? Thanks.

Thanks, Mister.

But I still don't know why "go" doesn't fit. Could you shed more light?

Btw, is "in" in the introductory sentence optional? Thanks.

Go is inappropriate because the movement is not of the essence of the intention; the intent is to look at the globalization. In is optional, but it would sound better without, to my ears.

LOOK

We don't need to use GO since you don't need to literally move from one place to another in Taiwan to be aware that there are many international brand names there.
