If you don't mind...

Hi,

I hear and see sentences like the following a lot. I feel that either ‘don’t’ should be replaced with ‘didn’t’ or ‘would’ should be replaced with ‘will’ to make it grammatically correct. Am I correct in that?

If you don't mind emailing me back, I would like to ask you more questions.

Thanks.

You can safely consider "would like" as an idiom that counts the same as a present tense for the purposes of conditional constructions. The sentence is fine. CJ
