If you don't look the part, you won't get the part!

I can't make out the meaning of the sentence above. Does it mean that if you don't show interest or don't work for something , you won't get it????

Thank you in advance .Emotion: speechless

Hi,
This sounds more like an acting gig than a nine-to-five job.
In what context did you find this quote?
