if you could check these?

Hi,

I wonder if the following sentences are correct English:

(1) These pants are too wrinkled to wear.
(2) Your shirt is/looks very creased.
(3) Try to smooth the creases/wrinkles on your blouse.
(4) I have been trying to iron out the creases/wrinkles on my jacket but without success.

Thank you!

Thanks, MM!

(1) to smooth wrinkles IN your blouse
(2) to iron out wrinkles ON my jacket

Can it be explained in plain English at all?

I missed the jacket, sorry—change it to 'in', too.

OK.

So it should be

(1) the wrinkles IN a piece of clothes, but
(2) the wrinkles ON his/her forehead/face, etc. ??

Thanks for the prompt reply!

I don't think it is that definitive.

FYI:

Google searching for "wrinkles IN/ON the pants":

(1) IN - 188,000
(2) ON - 57,000

In short, English learners are recommended using "IN" in such phrases?

I would if asked to choose.
