if we didn't go to their party next week...

Hi everyone,

I saw below sentence :
if we didn't go to their party next week, they would be very angry.

Why the sentence used "didn't " and "next week", past and future in a sentence?...

Thanks in advance

Bbk_agp Why did the sentence use "didn't " and "next week", past and future in a sentence? Because the meaning of the tenses changes after "if". A past tense after "if" usually has a present or future-time meaning.
