To me it means nothing very specific -- it's just a bunch of incongruous ideas strung together to create a surreal effect.

Sure, but why "yellow death announcements"?

I haven't researched the 'yellow' part! There may be an association of death with yellow that we don't know about -- but Y. O. does.

Hmmm.

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_symbolism_and_psychology , yellow can symbolize pretty much anything you care to think of, including death, and, in Japan, courage.
