Please some one tall me is it possible to combine "if" + "should" together in mixed conditionals and third conditionals.
Is following sentence is grammatically correct.
If the had completed the assignment, they should have free time.
With this sentence, what I wanted to tell was if the had completed the assignment in the past, they should have free time now.
If the had completed the assignment, they should have had free time.
With this sentence, I need to talk about hypothetical situation in the past with past hypothetical result.
Please someone tell me above sentences are grammatically correct or not. In actual fact, even though I know that I can use "would have + past participle" or "might have + part participle" with third conditionals, I do not have foggiest idea about how to use "should" or "might".

The (rare) third conditional with should takes "would" as the modal in the other part.
3rd c. - for an unlikely or impossible situation.
"Should students finish early, they would have free time." - hypothetical but not past.
"Should he be convicted, he would go to jail."
(Should in the conditional takes a base form verb..It is not used as a modal.)
