If possible?

Hi.
'remember, whenever possible avoid blocking your pieces with you pawns."

Any difference between 'whenever possible' and 'if possible'?

Thanks in advance.

Why?What's the difference?

I can't think of any difference.

Somebody else might.

So why do you say 'Not really'?

I'm inviting somebody else to find a difference if they really care enough to bother.

Until that happens, you can assume that there's no difference.

That's my last word on the subject.

Life's too short.
