if or whether

Hi,

Although I've used the following sentences many times, I don't know if I have used them correctly. Will anybody please tell me the correct usage of IF and WHETHER. I'm going to write a few sentences for you.

1) I don't remember <if or whether?> I have ever seen her.
2) She doesn't know <if or whether?> she has any penny in her wallet.
3) I don't know <if or whether?> the following sentences are correct grammatically.

4). I have no idea <if or whether?> she was wrong. (by the say, is the Tense order okay in this sentence? Should it have been "I had no idea"?)

I will be thankful if anyone provides a few more examples showing the use of "if" and "whether" in different ways.

Thank you all.

Although from many references, the explanations seem to suggest "if" can be " interchangeable with "whether". From a syntactical perspective, I would use "If" in your sentences, Although "whether" would seem marginally accpetable. For the same reason "if " can not be used in the following sentence:
I will marry her whether my family likes it or not.

The sentence is, "She doesn't know if she has any penny in her wallet." That is possible, but only given the right unusual circumstance. It might be an answer to, "Does she know if she has a Canadian penny in her wallet?" But I suspect that the OP meant, "She doesn't know if she has a penny i
