If nothing

1-It is great that you and your wife got back together again; if nothing else, for the good of your child.
Does the 'if nothing else' part modify 'it is great' or 'you and your wife got back together again'.

Did they get back together, if nothing else, for the good of their child? Or is it great, if for nothing else, for the good of their child?

Gratefully.
