If I was still there, I'd demand we would go...

"If I was still there, I'd demand we would go..."

Is this sentence incorrect? Do we have to use a subjunctive instead?

Thanks.

So is the sentence above incorrect?

I am having my doubts only due to the fact that it was supposedly written by a native as a message from a mobile phone. Your sentence is of course correct and to me the most natural one, but I am not sure of the sentence above.

Hi,

I think one would is enough (I'd demand); what's more, the subjunctive mood is usually used with

this kind of verb.

= I would demand we would go.

I agree that this is too many woulds! And anyway, the fact that it's a demand seems to be contradicted by any attempt to make it hypothetical or tentative by adding would in the clause that says what the demand is. In short, ... demand that ... would ... is contradictory

Hi,
CalifJimIf you mean 'we go' at the end, then note that nobody will know whether it's subjunctive or not. Indicative: We go. Subjunctive: We go.
Right. I hadn't thought of that. Both the indicative and the subjunctive are we go, so you can't go wrong

with this choice. Thanks for pointing this out!

Even if it were incorrect, I would not be surprised. Many native speakers don't worry about the finer points of grammar or spelling when they are texting.

Yes, I completely agree on this point. I think the same.

I share the same opinion. But I

Yes, indeed. That's the reason I believed the facts that I haven't seen it written like this so far, and therefore I wanted to make sure about this by posting it here.

I also thank you for your opinions.
RegardsI hadn't thought of that.
I have still one answer. Is it possible to use the past perfect like this? When there is no past time determination by using another clause with the past simple. I seldom see the past perfect like this. I'd use the present perfect instead. Could you clarify me your use of this tense, please?
