"If I am rude, I will apologize to you"

"If I am rude, I will apologize to you"

Is the sentence possible? If so, this is about a current state or a future happening? I think that the sentence is somewhat weird. What do you experts think? Thank you so much as usual.

It is weird but it seems possible. The speaker is leaving open the possibility that he will be rude in the future, and if informed of this state, s/he will apologize for the rudeness. It's hypothetical, but subjunctive is not appropriate.

It's hypothetical, but subjunctive is not appropriate. Otherwise it would have to revised to "If I were ever rude, I would apologize to you."
