Can somebody pls tell me which tense should be used? Thanks.

"Becomes," or "has become" would be correct.

(You can use "became" with "could.")
Either party could terminate the agreement if the other party became a liquidated company.

As I indicated in my response to your other thread, you need to be very careful if you are trying to draft a realistic legal contract.

Yes.
It's like "if she becomes pregnant" vs "if she has become pregnant."
With the perfect tense, it's a done deal.
