If clause

Please tell which sentence is correct. I don't know if I am right or not when I use if clause.

The original sentence:

"He is so lazy. He can fail the final exam."

If clause:

1. If he isn't so lazy, he can't fail the final exam.

2. If he wasn't so lazy, he couldn't fail the final exam.

Thanks.

He is so lazy. He will fail the final exam.

If he wasn't so lazy, he wouldn't fail the final exam.

I agree with Nona about will/would. But it's a bad example: when could the if-sentence be uttered? Neither before or after the exam, as far as I can see!
