If ... Can or Can't ... .

Could you please take a look at this sentence and see whether "can" is correct or "can't"?
I think both have the same meaning, then again, I would choose "can".

I know you're having problems at work with your boss, but why don't you just be honest with him about it and see if you {can or can't which one?} work it out together?

I agree there's not a lot of difference, but . . .

. . . see if you can't work it out together. To my mind, the speaker here seems a little less optimistic about the chance of success.
