The person did not expect the situation to get worse, but it did. Things should be improving, or at least staying the same. Rather than become more calm and peaceful, the aggression increased!

The person did not expect the situation to get worse, but it did. Things should be improving, or at least staying the same. Rather than become more calm and peaceful, the aggression increased!
