Do these make sense:

If what happened didn’t happen maybe I would be in a better place now.

and

If that hadn’t happened maybe I would be in a better place now.

and

If that didn’t happen maybe I’d be in a better place now.

I understand them, but you always need to add a comma with " if clause sentences". Furthermore, I don't think the second one is correct. I would say: 1- If what happened didn't happen, maybe I would be in a better place now.
