Please help me correct this essay. Thanks a lot.


The line graph gives information about the average number of attendees in top-notch football matches in three distinct nations during the period 1980 -2004.

Overall, the figure for the attendance in Italy was higher than that of the other two countries for most of the time. Except in 1998, the number of stadium-goers in England and Germany exceeded Italy for the very first time.

From 1980 to 1986, there was an increasing trend in the number of Italian attendance, with the data slightly rose from 35 to roughly 37 thousand. By contrast, England and Germany observed a sharp decline in attendance figure, with each nation reaching about 25 thousand visits in 1980, then dropped to 22 and under 20 thousand respectively.

On the other hand, those three countries experienced a reverse in trend in the next 18 years. In which, the number of people present in a top-level football match in Italy gradually declined and fell under the 25000 points. While the remaining countries witnessed a consecutive increase, which surpassed Italy at the 27 thousand mark in 1998 and still maintained their rising momentum until 2004.
