The bar chart illustrates how many children of two genders participated in 6 different types of sports ( tennis, badminton, cycling, swimming, football and hockey) in an English town in 2012.

Overall, boys showed a preference for football while the majority of girls would like to swim. Moreover, hockey is the least popular sports for both genders.

In terms of football, there was a massive number of 60 boys played the sport whereas only 20 girls play it. Similarly, more boys played tennis than girls (50 and just above 35, respectively). Furthermore, the number of boys cycling exceeded that of girls, around 35 and 20. In addition, the figures for boys and girls did not differ much with regards to hockey, with 15 boys and roughly 10 girls participating in this sport.

On the other hand, more girls played badminton than boys ( 40 and 30,approximately). Likewise, the figure for girls who took part in swimming was 50 as opposed to 40 for boys.
