It is argued that popular events like the soccer world cup and similar international organizations ease international tensions and release patriotic emotions safely. I agree this
First, international sporting events are one of the best ways to get together different citizens of countries in the same field. this in not only the players but also the crowd which is there to support their countries sports team. we can take say a football match as a war between 2 teams belonging to 2 different countries which for instance have a political tension. on the other hand it is the safest place to have this war in a field which has rules. Besides witnessing a gentleman act towards the opponents team which we witnesses in the history like helping out a player to stand him up creates a peaceful environment between 2 countries.
Secondly these kind of events release patriotic emotions in a safe way by canalizing these emotions and energy to a safer goal which is winning in a sports game. to this end players train hard to represent the country in a best way.
