Ielts writting task 2, please help me

A growing number of people rely on restaurants and convenience food (frozen foods and packaged meals) rather than home-cooked food to supply most of their meals

What are the advantages and disadvantages of eating this way?

It is a fact that more and more people prefer consuming those foods which are frozen or packaged. They also choose to have outside meals. Even though these habits have a few clear benefits, the drawbacks should not be forfeited.

On the one hand, it is clear that eating outside, especially convenience food would create several compelling advantages. One evident strength is that it would facilitate busy individuals not to cook. Cooking is a time-consuming process that people need to go through steps-by-steps, including shopping and preparing ingredients. Thus, some decide to choose to eat at restaurants as the shortcut, where all the dishes are equipped to serve fast. Moreover, if the foodstuff is frozen or packaged, the cooks can easily reheat it in a few minutes. Another benefit is that outside foods taste better and offer consumers a variety of choices. In other words, each restaurant has its own professional chefs being trained in a long time and the menu which serves the customs diverse cuisines. These features of restaurants definitely create convenience for the customs that home-made cooking would not bring.

On the other hand, there are obvious other disadvantages that would arise. First, those frozen and canned foods might not be fresh. It means that some of the foods may contain artificial preservatives with an aim to keep foods tasting better for a long period of time. For example, many restaurants consume low-quality oil or high-fructose corn syrup in order to keep foods low cost. Due to poor quality products, undesirable health symptoms would be caused. Second, it is difficult to find information about the original food sources whether they are clean or dirty. By contrast, home-cooked foods are selected carefully and use such simple ingredients. For these reasons, ready-made ailments represent vast disadvantages for those people who want fresh meals.

To conclude, I suppose that although restaurants and convenience food bring customs fast serve and various selection, the disadvantages of these eating habits are something to be aware of.
