Nowadays, many families have both parents working. Some working parents believe other family members like grandparents can take care of their children, while others think childcare centers provide the best care. Discuss both views and give your own opinion

Opinions are divided on whether children should be taken care of by family members like grandparents or whether a kindergarten would be better for them. This essay will discuss the logic behind the former view, but still strongly agree with the latter.

Those parents who believe that letting grandparents take care of their childs would be better may point to the security that grandparents provide. These family members almost retire from work, thereby having much time to look after their grandchildren that can protect them from dangers. For instance, a-five-year-boy living with his grandparents may be prevented from self-accidents caused by sharp objects in the kitchen such as knives, forks because the grandparents have an eye on him all the time. However, many grandparents are incapable of watching out children because of their dementia and visual impairment.

Nevertheless, I believe that childcare centers would be much better at caring for children thanks to the professional education and social skills that they can create. Regarding the former, professionals at kindergartens who are trained to work with children effectively can teach kids essential knowledge that are suitable for their certain ages. This paves the way for children’s future prospects that they will study and experience. Another point is that, studying in childcare centers allows kids to interact with peers that there are a number of situations they experience everyday. As a result, kids will naturally learn how to face and solve daily problems which lay the foundation for their future.

In conclusion, although grandparents are the goods ones who can take care of children because they provide high security, I still hold the belief that kindergartens are better at looking after kids because they have proper educational programs and mini social environment for children.
