When choosing a job, the salary is the most important consideration. Do you agree or disagree?

It is argued that people consider salary as the most significant factor for them when they choose a career. While I accept that this may suit many people, I believe that there are more essential factors than salary alone.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why salary plays a significant role in choosing a job. One reason is that being offered a high salary helps employees have better living and health standards. It allows them to meet their basic needs. They can be able to buy expensive food, enjoy recreational activities and their hobbies without being afraid of money. Moreover, high salary is a motivation for workers to contribute wholeheartedly to the company. If the company gives workers a high salary, they will dedicate more to deserve that payment level.

On the other hand, other factors which are more important than salary should be taken into account. The first factor is working environment. The workers could only have a feeling of happiness in work when they get on well with their colleague and boss. From my personal experience, I have been working as a teacher and I have switched to a new school where I am respected much more by the other teachers and the students compared to the old one. Job satisfaction is another reason for a person to choose a job. A person who loves outdoor activities might not be happy to work as an officer, while an introvert person who don’t like to share their feelings don't like to be a tour guide as well.
