There was a variation between 1920 and 1935 in China. The following period, from 1935 to 1940, the birth rate in China dived to 5% after it reached 15% in 1935. In the 1950s, the birth rate increased rapidly to 20%, which is the highest point of the whole graph before there was a sudden fall to below 10%. Throughout the remainder of the period, the rate of birth in China dropped gradually to approximately 2% by 2000.
Over the same period, the birth of America fluctuated slightly. Between 1935 and 1945, there was a plummet and the bottom of this period reached under 5%. In the 1945-1950 period, it went up dramatically to 15 %. The rest of period, the figure of the birth in the USA went down continuously to over 5%.
