Question: Some people claim that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled.

They say that the only way to increase recycling is for the government to make it a legal requirement.

To what extent do you think laws are needed to make people recycle more of their waste?

It is thought by some people that the reprocessing of waste from residential areas is insufficient, which leads to a diverse range of opinions on encouraging the government to impose a legal obligation for citizens in order to reinforce recycling trash. From my point of view, I completely disagree with this statement for the following reasons.

In fact, environmental issues are one of the topics mentioned and discussed by everyone. There are some irrefutable advantages to propagating the tougher policy of recycling waste, especially protecting our planet and achieving sustainable development. Not only does it restrict the trash from homeowners, but it also provides families with useful goods. Being responsible under the legislation, including a fine, might increase the amount that waste reprocessing occurs. The inevitable part of the law is to decrease the cost of waste processing, even contributing to the government budget.

However, I sincerely believe that governments should do more than simply pass a recycling law. First, it might be more efficient if the government would take action to raise the consciousness of citizens. By disseminating the simple method of sorting garbage and the seriousness of the imperative situation, people might gradually recycle the waste willingly. Besides, the important action for the government is to invest in technology and recycling facilities as well. The environmental issues are not temporary problems, thus the long-term evolution is to put education at the center of the campaigns.

In conclusion, we might need to make recycling a legal requirement appropriately because the core of the problem is the awareness of people.
