Ielts writing tast 1: The chart below show the distribution of the world's water and the use of water in three countries

The given pie charts depict the classification of the water in the world, while the bar chart illustrates how much the water is used in different countries, namely Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Canada.

Overall, it is clearly seen that the majority of the world’s water is salt water. Another one is fresh water which has mostly ice and glaciers. In addition, the percentage of water used for agriculture is the highest in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. By contrast, that of Canada is the lowest one.

Looking at the pie chart in more detail, there are 2 parts of the world’s water. Most water in the world is salt water with 97%, another is a modest 3% of fresh water which is made up of ground water, ice and glaciers, and surface water, with 20%,79%,1% respectively.

Moving to the bar chart, it is noticeable that the vast majority of water is used for agriculture in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, 80% and 75% respectively. While that of Canada is only one out of eight compared to the highest one. On the contrary, a massive 80% of the water supplied for the industry in Canada is much higher than that of the two other countries, about 8 times compared to Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Besides, the water for domestic use is all low among 3 countries, approximately more than 10%.
