Topic: Some people prefer to live in a house, while others feel that there are more advantages to living in an apartment. Are there more advantages than disadvantages of living in a house compared with living in an apartment?

Answer:

It is true that some people would like to live in a private house rather than an apartment. In my opinion, I totally agree that the merits to living in a house outweigh the drawbacks.

On the one hand, there are several benefits of living in a house. Firstly, a house has often a garden with more space for children to play games or outdoor activities. Secondly, house owners are free to renovate or build their houses. For example, the legislation in building house allows them to redesign their places without the need of asking for any permission. Finally, They do not need to cover any extra costs from security services or the installation of surveillance camera systems which are often seen in a high-rise buildings.

On the other hand, living in an apartment can have many merits. One of example is that this can avoid noises from streets. For instance, living in a highly congested streets would lead to more noise which can reduce concentration on study. In addition, an apartment is often equipped with high-tech technology to improve security. For example, people who live in a high-class apartment must use digital smart cards or fingerprinting to enter to the apartment.

In conclusion, I strongly agree that the merits of having a house to live outweigh the drawbacks because there are more places for children to play outdoor games, people are free to design their houses and they can avoid unnecessary costs. However, apartments also benefit people in many aspects like noise prevention and enhanced security system. It seems that living a private house is a preferred choice for adults nowadays.
