IELTS Writing task1 (Academic)

The pie charts demonstrate the proportion of energy used and the greenhouse gas that is radiated by using different electrical appliances in an Australian house.

Overall, it can be noticed that although most of the energy is consumed in heating, yet more percentage of greenhouse gas is produced by water heating than the other objects.

According to the first chart, just above two-fifth of the total energy is used up in heating, which is the highest in contrast to the second highest amount of energy expended in water heating, that is up to 30%. However, only 7, 4 and 2% of energy is required in refrigeration, cooling and lighting, respectively. Other appliances account for just under one-sixth of the total energy utilization.

The second chart shows that water heating occupies slightly under one-third of the total greenhouse gas production, compared to the 15 and 14% of gas released by heating and refrigeration, respectively. Similarly, 11% of such gas in total is given out by cooling and lighting. While other household sources that take part in its emission account for just above a quarter.
