Topic: In some countries, young people have little leisure time and are under a lot of pressure to work hard on their studies. What do you think are the causes of this and how does this affect the society?

The priority of studying of children in some nations not only brings tension but also reduces the necessary time for entertainment. This essay will outline the cause and impact of the given problem.

There are two main reasons to illustrate why youngsters nowadays are obliged to spend a large amount of time on their studies. The first cause comes from the high expectations of parents. In Asian countries, parents usually have a conservative in the outlook: The higher scores their children achieve, the higher salary they earn later. Therefore, they compel their children to go to extra classes at nights although they experience a long day at school, from 8 a.m. to 5p.m. Furthermore, if their offspring do not reach the desired grades, they will be scolded heavily and pushed to be studious. Meanwhile, children are also facing up with much stress related to the study due to the social competitions. Particularly, human is one of the types who have strong competence. Hence, if a straight-A child perceives a person that has a higher mark than he, he will feel annoyed and that is the inspiration for him to improve the study. As a result, this action is not only happen in one case but also spread quickly to the society, which leaves the burden on the young people.

Several related problems can be anticipated when young people over study. To the positive side, putting pressure on youngsters motivates them to set their minds to study which helps to improve their performances at school. However, to the negative side, over studying without having appropriate time to relax make children find some unhealthy ways of coping: drugs, alcohol and even suicide. This harmful method of decreasing stress is also selected by thousands of students, including excellent and average students.

In conclusion, the high concentration on study of young people arises from the anticipation of parents and competitions in society which results in both beneficial and detrimental outcomes.
