IELTS - writing task 2: Write a narrative essay about a memorable journey

Summer is coming and so is holidays. Do you like travelling? Have you had any plans for this summer yet? If you’re an experienced traveller, you must have one memorable journey. Mine is when I and my high-school-class travelled to Sam Son the summer before.

The trip was in 2 days and 1 night at a weekend. We gathered in early morning on the first day and went for 3 hours by express bus until we reached the spot. When we reached there it was about 10pm and we had lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we came to the beach and play as much as we can. It was the weekend so the beach a little bit crowded but we still had the time for ourselves, many people together playing on the beach made it look more lively and delightful. We swam and jumped when the waves came, it made us feel really fresh and joyful. The atmosphere is hot but we had out feet in cool water, it was a genuine happiness in those extremely hot summer days.

After having good time on the beach, we moved to hotel then rest and had dinner. The hotel located in the centre of the city and it was so nice and comfortable. All the rooms were equipped with modern facilities and a luxury bathroom. We had dinner at hotel’s restaurant, and also celebrate our friends’ birthday who were born in May, June, July, together promise with ourselves to pass the university’s entrance examination. We also visited the city’s centre square as well as the city’s symbolic statue, took pretty pictures as beautiful memories.

The night came and we slept after a day long as well as prepare ourselves for the next day. We spent visiting other beauty spot of the city to go shopping, eat local treats and take pictures. We had a truly holiday together without any worry or strained thoughts. Our class had nearly 50 students and the chance to gather us like that appeared once in a blue moon.

Now we are separated due to jobs, studyings, especially oversea studyings, but we still look back in those days as the sweetest pieces of youth’s memories.
