Nowadays, more and more zoos have been constructed in order to capture animals. This is for many significant reasons. While many people believe that it is not right to keep animals in zoos, some think of many advantages for this trend. However, I partly agree with this idea.
Some people think that keeping animals in zoos is for many good reasons. First and foremost, zoos are the great places to reserve animals, especially endangered animals. For example, many modern zoos have been invested to recover injured animals and return them to health, animal research. Moreover, capturing animals can be an efficient way to prevent them from destroying natural habitats as well as human’s property. Therefore, dangerous animals like tigers or lions can be kept in zoos for children education and human safety.
Meanwhile, there are several negative ideas towards the issue. First, the zoo has no useful purpose. Because people now have many other accesses to know about animals. For instance, because of technological advance, people can know wildlife habitats and animals on internet or by reading newspapers. Furthermore, the goal of more zoos is to increase the market share by bringing more visitors to create more profits. Lastly, captivity is both physical and mentally stressful to animals, so it is even worse sometimes for endangered species even though modern zoos have many advanced technologies.
In conclusion, whereas keeping animals in zoos brings some obvious benefits for human being, it also causes many consequences in modern life. Personally, I agree that zoos should just keep animals for specific reasons to improve human’s and animal’s life.
