IELTS Writing Task 2: Technology and Education

Some people think that improving some new technologies can improve people's life quality in the developing countries. However, others believe that free education should be offered. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

My answer:

Some people believe installing new technologies can promote people's living quality in the third-world countries. Conversely, others think that education should be offered with no tuition fee to develop those nations. I strongly support the idea of providing technologies as well as free education to make life in developing country better.

Obviously, the importance of technologies is undeniable. The internet infrastructure could act as a contributor to the improvement in poor countries' society. Just by some clicks, people could get access to a wide range of knowledge in many different faculties while they could also gain perspective from reading articles or blogs written by foreigners. As a result, individuals would learn from rich countries and find the way to develop their home nation. Moreover, at the medical level, cell phones allow citizens to approach vital information about health. Most patients suffer certain diseases stemming from the fact that they lack knowledge and awareness of the lifestyle. The authorities or hospitals could provide their inhabitants with alert about health emergency as well as reminder of taking medication when necessary to avoid life-threatening illnesses.

On top of that, free education also catalyse promotion in the third-world nations. Schooling with no costs could allow for undergoing various levels of education. Therefore, the poor students could achieve their ultimate goal in studying. Secondly, free education promote fairness in the society, especially for intelligent but poor students. This allows poor learners to have the same footing when finding jobs as they will have the same opportunity with richer students in other nations.

In short, I think the governments of third-world countries should not only install high-tech devices but provide free education as well to improve the citizens' life.
