IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - Some people think that one of the best ways to solve environmental problems to increase the cost of fuels for cars and other vehicles.To what extent you agree or disagree

People used to inappropriately estimate the environmental issue, however, in the past few years, with the significant environmental impacts on human life, this issue has truly drawn public attention. Despite the emergency in solving this problem, there is an argument about whether the increase in taxes on vehicle fuel is the optimized solution for environmental issues or not. In my point of view, to completely solve the environmental issue, we need more than just to alter the vehicles’ fuel cost to a higher level.
Firstly, there is an optimistic idea with the growth of cars’ consumption energy prices, there will be a change in the using habitat of consumers, which leads to the theory that people will not use the fuel as much as they did to save money. However, in practice, this seems to be far from the above hypothesis. For example, with the unprecedented expansion of gasoline prices in Vietnam, recently people just complain about this on social media, and use their vehicles and fuels as usual and have no conspicuous action.
Secondly, the carbon emission from the consumption of fossil fuel in combustion engines is believed to damage sl the ozone layer and produce greenhouse gas, which worsens the environmental issue. However, with a deeper investigation, the untreated chemical waste from industries damages the soil, water, and air resources more than that from vehicles, which only damages the atmosphere. To deal with the environmental problem, the government needs to invest more in eco-friendly materials and energy. Biodegradable materials from fruit and renewable energy from sun, wind, and tidal waves in many nations have proven their effectiveness in improving the environmental issue.
In conclusion, the increase in cars’ fuel will not solve all the environmental issues effectively. To save this green planet, there should be more appropriate policies and plans for sustainable development as mentioned above.
