Influence of human beings on the world's ecosystem is leading to the extinction of species and loss of bio-diversity.

What are the primary causes of loss of bio-diversity?

What solutions can you suggest?

Man has a tremendous impact on the natural environment which includes many downsides. One of them would be the loss of biodiversity fundamentally resulting from financial purposes or personal benefits, and it can be solved by strict law enforcement.
To elaborate on this, I will present several reasons. First of all, trees have played a vital role in people's lives, not only do they make the surroundings more beautiful but they also provide wood for manufacturing. B ecause of that, many enterprises and factories have been exploiting forests or rain forests excessively just to make more profits. Besides, farming activities also adversely affect the delicately balanced ecosystem. Since farmers need a lot of lands to grow crops, they would cut down trees or even burn an area of the forests. Despite the risks and dangers of them, those activities are usually beyond the control of governments.
Moreover, deforestation also reduces animals' natural habitat, so they can not find a sanctuary or even a place to stay. For example, if we cut down a rain forest, the animals living there have to wander around and hence may be attacked by hunters. But even when forests are preserved, some savage people still go everywhere to search for those wildlife animals. Rhinoceroses, pandas, or Siberian tigers are the animals that are in imminent danger of extinction because numerous people want to kill them for financial purposes such as selling horns, making foods or fashion items, etc. In terms of marine life, overfishing significantly reduces the number of fish or other sea animals, which can also cause immense damage to natural biodiversity.
Another reason is human beings' consumerism. The fact that more and more people want to buy and use luxurious things made of parts of animals such as leather purses, fur coats, etc. has, and continues to, inspire the ones who desire money to collect such materials or products.
For all these reasons, governments should take decisive action to combat the problem of biodiversity degradation. First, they should enforce laws related to exploitation and impose heavy fines on individuals or organizations that do not abide by those laws. They can also arrest those lawbreakers in certain circumstances. Besides, the governments probably need to use the media to raise public awareness of this environmental issue.
In conclusion, biodiversity degradation is a tremendously alarming problem. Governments must take urgent measures to address this negative trend. As citizens, we should save our planet too.
