Vehicles including cars, buses and trucks will be driveless someday. Thus, there are only passengers inside these vehicles. As far as I am concerned, I believe the benefits of this development would overperform its drawbacks.
On the one hand, the disadvantage of autonomous vehicles is the responsibility have to be taken when accidents occur. In fact, if drivers drive conventional cars, they will be those who take any charge of human- caused accidents. However, when cars are driveless, there are not any drivers. Thus, the question raised by many people is who would admit liability in the machine-caused accidents. As a result, this evidence gives the reason why driveless vehicles are negative.
On the other hand, there are obvious advantages to have driveless vehicles. Firstly, it could solve any human errors. It is unadvoidable that human could cause accidents because of some reasons such as driving fast, poor visibility, alcohol and so on. However, the problems could be solved because autonomous cars, buses and trucks will be programed to eliminate human errors. Secondly, the accidents' rate would reduce and the road safety would be improved. This means if all cars run in one system, no one will break a rule.
To conclude, although the increasing number of driveless vehicles have not only benefits but also drawbacks, I think that the positivities of this trend would outweigh its negativities. Although it is unsure who would compensate for all damages after accidents, I believe the reduction in accidents' rate and the development of road safety are more important.
