IELTS Writing task 2. Please give me a feedback and advice. Thank you very much.

Some people believe that school children should not be given homework by their teachers, whereas others argue that homework plays an important role in the education of children. Discuss both of these views and give your own opinion.

It can be argued that it is unnecessary to assign homework to school children. In contrast, others suggest that homework is of paramount importance to students' education. Although both views possess a degree of prevalence, I endorse the hypothesis that teachers should not give homework to the young.

On the one hand, assigning homework to students might help them have a good performance at school. In fact, due to the academic and abstract knowledge from school, children have to do a large number of homework to understand and memorise them. For example, Mathematics has incomprehensible formulas and theorems, which requires youngters to practise exercises. As a result, it may be beneficial for students to success in academic field at school.

On the other hand, it is unadvoidable that there would be many serious health problems when students are given too much homework. To be specific, homework has need of time allocation and mental ability, thus health issues are caused from that. For instance, young people are easily prone to obesity and mental anxiety due to constantly thinking and continually sitting on the chair to do homework. Consequently, the evidence supports the claim of many that it is better not to assign homework to children.

To conclude, despite the controversial views on determining which way is more advantageous to students, I still support the fact that they would reap numberous benefits from being free from homework. While students may have a high achievement in academic field, giving homework to them could lead to many problems of health.
