Topic: The world natural resources are being consumed at an ever-increased rate. What are the dangers of this situation? What should we do?

In recent years, people have consumed too many resources of nature. This certainly lead to serious social and environmental problems, and some effective steps need to be taken to tackle those issues, not only by the government but also by individuals.

As natural resources are being overused, several dangerous problems can be anticipated. First, the excessive use of fossil fuels leads to a lack of power source for transportation and industrial activities. Since fossil fuels, such as coal or petroleum, need a long period of time to be reproduced, and renewable energy sources are still expensive and not widespread, people are facing the danger of energy depletion. Second, many animal species are becoming extinct due to the illegal hunting and the environmental damage caused by people. For example, tigers can be sold at an extremely high price, people, therefore, find every possible way to hunt them notwithstanding that those acts are unlawful. In addition, the vanishing of many forests, which are the living habitats of tigers and other animals, is the result of the overconsumption of woods by people.

Since such issues are serious, the government, organisations and individuals should take steps immediately to address these problems. Organisations and individuals should invest more in renewable energy projects. As a result, more researches will be conducted, and more effective ways to use clean power sources, such as the wind or the sun, will be discovered, which creates affordable alternatives to fossil fuels. Furthermore, the government ought to adopt a policy with zero tolerance to illegal hunting and selling animals. Those who kill or trade in animals illegally must be punished severely by fining heavily or imprisonment, which means unlawful acts will certainly be decreased. In addition, other policies to prevent the damage to the forests, where many animals live, also need to be adopted.

In conclusion, there are various dangerous consequences of consuming too many world natural assets and appropriate steps from individuals, groups and the government need to be taken to tackle these problems.
