Human activity has caused irreparable damages to the environment, leading to the belief that the situation cannot be changed. However, I think that efforts can be made to rectify this problem despite many difficulties.
Firstly, it is irrefutable that humans have inflicted great damages on the environment to the detriment of animals and plants as they lose their habitat. Nevertheless, there have been signs of improvement once new policies were adopted to ameliorate the situation. To illustrate, laws restricting the hunting of endangered animals accompanied by heavy punishment deterred many people from such detrimental activities. Throughout the world, governments are striving to preserve the habitats of many endangered species. Likewise, the increasing number of wildlife conservation areas has prevented the extinction of many animals. Undoubtedly, by doing so we can greatly improved the overall situation. Furthermore, many countries are on the brink of introducing groundbreaking technologies such as car running on electricity as an effort to reduce global warming, which has been proved to adverse effects on the habitat of animals.
On the other hand, there remains problem with no plausible solutions. The rapid and alarming extinctions of many animals perfectly exemplify this. Furthermore, human activity is also responsible for permanent damages like coral erosion and ozone layer depletion. Notwithstanding, I believe that government worldwide can still improve other areas of problem in view of effectiveness of new policies and laws. Apart from that, campaigns on a global scale against illegal hunting or deforestation illustrate human’s desire to make amends.
In conclusion, humankind has undoubtedly left a permanent mark on the environment. However, I believe that drastic actions form the society can inevitably ameliorate the situation.
