IELTS WRITING TASK 2: July 15th, 2017: The animal species are becoming extinct due to human activities on land and in sea.
It is believed that human activities on land and in sea are accountable for the increased numbers of endangered animal species that are on the verge of extinction. In the following paragraphs, I tend to provide some justifications and feasible solutions to the problem.
Human activities such as logging and illegal poaching on land put animals in a battle for survival. As more trees are cut down, the overall terrestrial habitats will shrink. This translates into a considerable increase in the number of homeless animals that are unable to find their accommodations, and be eventually dead. Also, deforestation accompanied with over-hunting causes a mass loss in their populations, and an unbalance in biodiversity. Seawater absorbs the unmanaged waste from industrial factories, causing water pollution. Ultimately, a large number of marine species have a tendency of dying out as a result of poisonous water.
Preventive methods related to strict punishments, breeding endangered species, tend to be proposed to lessen the severity of the contemporary situation. From my perspective, imposing a strict penalty such as sentencing to jail and compensating for damage on illegal hunting and lumberjacking can act as a deterrent to stop people from doing damage to animal habitats. Another feasible approach is to breed endangered species together. Not only can this method give rise to balance in biodiversity but it also can boost their populations.
In conclusion, there are several reasons and available measures which are applicable in practice. In my view, the best approach is increasing species diversification by breeding a variety of animals together.
