Topic:

Leaders and directors in organizations are often older people. Some people say that younger people could be leaders. Do you agree or disagree?

It is debatable whether young generation could be leaders or managers when these positons are often given to older people. While I accept that older people have better leadership skills, I disagree with the idea that young people could be leaders.

On the one hand, many organizations choose older people to be leaders or directors for some goods purposes. Older managers tend to achieve mass of job experience and they have deal with various difficult circumstances. In other words, they can combat all kinds of situations easily, such as, dealing with some complaints of grumpy customers or tackle conflicts between their staff. Finally, experienced leaders could understand their staff well from weaknesses, strengths to demands. Therefore, they will arrange appropriate missions to exploit effectively the strength from each of their staff, as well as provide their needs to bond them to the company.

On the other hand, there are numerous of reasons why young people could not be leaders. Firstly, they lack an enormous of knowledge about leadership skills. In particular, inexperience leaders cannot know how to orient their team to reach the goal, consequently, the working yield is not effective. Secondly, many young people who just graduated from their university believe that they could be good managers to their own business with all the theories that they have learned in university. Hence, their business might be at risk or even fail due to the lack of real experience in monitoring things.

To conclude, although I accept that older people could be good leaders or directors for many companies or organizations, I disagree with the idea that young people could be managers.
