Some people think that newspapers are the best way to get news. However, others
believe that they can get news better through another media platform.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
There have been opposing views about effective access to the latest news. While I understand that the newspapers have already played an undeniable role in updating news for society, I believe that it is no longer the finest way to get news thanks to the proliferation of our online new sources.
On the one hand, it is true that newspaper is commonly regarded as a vital source of information, even in the digital age. Firstly, it is the most traditional means of communicating the news since the first-ever edition has publicized long before the introduction of the Internet. Secondly, newspapers can be trusted as reliable sources of news in the light of professional journalists and editors. Finally, the traditional press has a significant effect on the reading habit of members of society. Many senior citizens, for example, are used to reading daily printed newspapers every day and do not keen to change this kind of routine yet.
On the other hand, the Internet has become an increasingly dominant news source for a variety of reasons. The main reason is that it allows us much faster access to news at all time and wherever we are, through advances in technology such as laptops or mobile phones. Another key benefit of online news is that users can share and discuss articles with other people, make comments, and even contribute to their own updates on social media. Facebook, Twitter or any other media platforms, which can be taken as examples, has been explosively used as sharing way of news and views these days. A final point is that this source of news is less demand for human resources.
In conclusion, although printed newspapers are popular amongst certain groups of people, I would argue that it is no longer the best way of communicating news.
