IELTS Writing Task 2: Good News

The media should include more stories with good news. Agree or disagree ?My answer The social media has a significant impact on modern life as its content could create sensation among the society. Some people think the media should comprise positive news stories which are considered to have some particular advantages. I partly agree with this opinion and believe the drawbacks of spreading more good news are inevitable. On the one hand, positive news stories could make the audiences feel better. To clarify this point, stemming from the hectic life, people are inclined to suffer work stress. Reading and watching good news could lift the spirit up and reduce pressure by avoiding negative thoughts about society. As a result, the news service would witness an substantial increase in sales as well as revenue. Moreover, good news about achievements could be a motivational tools for the people who are striving for some certain purposes. For instance, an article writing about the success of the mathematician Ngo Bao Chau who had been offered the Fields Award has fostered me to keep passionate about Math throughout my education.
On the other hand, showing more good news could breed the falling circulation as people would feel tedious reading those kind of news. Secondly, it also lures people away from the brutal realities in some places and they would become ignorant of social problems. For example, if the news services only mention the Princess Meghan's wedding which contributes to the gender equality rather than violence against women in Indian families, it will trigger the social unfairness and those poor females will have no chance to be treated equally. In short, i think the number of good and bad news should be equivalent in order to encourage audiences to have a complete overview of a particular issue.
