"In your opinion, what are the difficulties facing children in the poorest areas of Vietnam? What are the solutions?"

The last few decades has seen a significant growth in our economy and living standard; however, there are still a few areas with underprivileged conditions. Therefore, the young generation in those areas are coping with a number of challenges, including a lack of primary facilities and limited access to education. This essay will address some of the obstacles and propose solutions.

To begin with, the severe shortage of essential institutions for the adolescents’ needs leaves them no choices but suffering from it all. Take schools and hospitals, for example. In some remote and mountainous areas, it takes people may be at least half a day or more to travel from their residence to the hospital when their children got serious diseases. The pupils also have to take a long way to their schools on foot through rocky or rough small paths in the forests or over floppy wooden bridges. As a consequence, there is no doubt that the child mortality and school dropping-out rate in these sites is always higher than those in more developed areas. The solution here, it seems, to collect support and donation from voluntary organizations, charity funds and the development policies from authorities. Once the infrastructure is improved and upgraded, the children will get more opportunities for a brighter future.

Another problem concerns the children’s poor awareness of how important of education is, which means they underestimate the vitality of being well-qualified and well-educated. This primarily derives from their parental attitude towards education and as a result, they are willing to give up their study from early age (12-15), get married, work on the farms to make ends meet and the poverty shall continually exist in the areas. On a larger scale, this issue may harm the quality of national human resources that plays an important role in a nation’s long-term development. In other words, the less wealthy and educated teenagers in the poorest sites are one of the factors which constrain the advancement of a country and their life quality themselves. Some have proposed a variety of strategic development policies for education and awareness-raising in such areas from the Government, which would swiftly improve the situations and create a brighter future for those places and the whole country in general.

In conclusion, the only permanent solution to the problem of the most indigent areas of Vietnam is the more scrupulous policies from the government and the support of social organizations. Since the problem is national in scale, the solution must also be national. The agency who responsible for this sector should do their best to tackle the problems aforementioned.
